Plastic Port Insert Easily Breaks
Wish FoodSaver would make the top part only available as it is the piece that breaks easily. The bottom liquid chamber part is available separately, but that piece has never broken, I now own six of those. The top part with hose always seems to break in the port, the plastic connection has broken on five that I've owned. Its getting expensive to replace the entire unit. FOODSAVER: Why do you offer the liquid chamber only but not the top part that is the piece that easily breaks? I keep repurchasing this part because it is necessary when using the bags. My FM2000 fits in my drawer and works fairly well, but this part could be better made.

Poor quality of hose and port
Over the course of 30 years, I have had 5 food saves. The first two were excellent quality and lasted me over 10 years of constant use. The last 3 are of very poor qualify and I am so disappointed with their product. They changed the port and the sealer attachment end making it very weak. the end of the hose has the green end that goes into the port; it breaks because it is so thin and of poor quality. the previous 2 versions I have are still of excellent quality but they changed the port hole so the hoses I have no longer fit. I am once again in need of another sealer attachment which is $53 on Canada Amazon and this unit is less than a year old

Poor design.... Cheap
I have model # FM2100-000 machine and this is the 2nd one of this tubing I am going to have to order and pay for.... the part that goes into the port on the machine is a cheap plastic and breaks no matter how careful you are with it... Of course you can't just order the tubing for $3.00, (no way to change it) If have to buy the whole unit for the $14.99 each time.... With all the complaints I have read regarding the cheap plastic tip on this product, i would have thought they would have improved it by now... And NO, I would not recommend it.

Resealable Zip Close Bags Need This
Invalable accessory for vacuum sealing resealable bags. Works as expected. But, the male connector that attaches it to the vacuum sealer is a weak point. Poor design. Too easy to break when removing it from the port. Point of fact, my original broke within 6 months. It snaps very tight into the port making removal difficult. Kudos to Foodsaver customer service, they sent me a knew one at no cost. Therefore, you can buy with confidence.

Does not work on V4860 without modification
I specifically called to find out if this part worked on my wife's V4860, and I was told it would work. I figured there would be some instructions or something, as I did not see any straightforward way to open the skins of the V4860. The unit arrived, without any instructions for installation on the V4860. I contacted support again, and they said it would not work, and they wanted me to send the serial #, etc. My wife uses this thing constantly, so sending it out for a few weeks was not appealing. I ended up fixing the problem by snipping off the old hose at a right angle, soaked the end in hot water for a minute, and then jamming it on to the end of the new unit. After it cooled, it worked. It's not optimum, but it works 100% now, does everything the old one did.

Very poorly made
We bought a new food saver 2100 less than a month ago, because we were happy with the previous one, but the handheld sealer's tab that connects the hose to the machine has broke twice. After I called the customer service, it happens that Food Saver doesn't offer warranty on this accessor, so in order to continue using the device, I probably have yo pay $15 every month, because the connector brakes. I see, that customers have been complaining from that issue for 7 years, but the company hasn't changed anything. We will return the device and will never buy from Food Saver. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Necessary purchase.
New FoodSaver Handheld Sealer=NFSHS. Good quality. If you use any containers, this is a must. Fantastic and wonderful in my opinion when I use it. It does 2 things when used properly. It produces a very high sounding SQUEAL when it is PULLED OFF AT AN ANGLE and at the same time IT PRODUCES a very deep distinctive DIMPLE in the middle of the gray rubber seal when your done vacuuming. After a while the sound of the SQUEAL and quality of the DIMPLE will determine the degree/quality of the vacuum. That's one nice thing I'm finding about this NFSHS, is that if I want to check the vacuum, I just pull the containers out and physically check the DIMPLE. You'll get to KNOW THE SOUND of a good/bad SQUEAL, believe me.

Improve Please
I have purchased 3 of these in less than a year now. I just replaced another today. This item really needs improvement because the little green part that attaches to the unit breaks easily. Food Saver needs to improve this item because it is not reliable at all.

To do it, kindly follow the instructions below: 1. Remove the bottom reservoir off the appliance. 2. Exposed tip can then be placed inside a hole of a container and it will function exactly like a hose would.
