Didn't need to replace my Food Saver after all :)
After reading some previous reviews I decided to try to replace the gaskets in my trusty Food Saver before disposing of it. Boy, am I glad I did. Since I had never (in over four years) replaced the gaskets, I figured it was worth a try. It was not vacuuming fully and not going into automatic seal since all the air was not being pulled out. The new gaskets put it back to new working order. I did replace both the top and bottom gasket as both were still the original gaskets. I hope it lasts for another four years as it has saved me tons of money being able to buy in larger quantities and repackage in single serving sizes.

Review is about parts purchase only
This 1 star rating is only about my replacement parts purchase experience. The FoodSaver itself works pretty well and I would recommend the product. However, I needed a replacement gasket and went on the website to buy it. My complaint is that nowhere could I find any information about which gasket fit which model number so I made a blind guess that turned out to be wrong. I called and spoke with a customer service rep who did send me the right gasket (two, in fact), but I don't understand why the information is not in the description of the parts on the website. How is a person supposed to know what to order if there is no information about which part is for which model?

Love our FoodSaver!!
I will try to keep this short. We bought A V2220 in 2006 and in 2013 I thought our machine was broke. I looked on FoodSaver site under FQA And seen the problem we were haveing it said to replace our seals. We did so and very easy to order I might add as is also to use our V2220 put them in and yeeha its back in sevice. Thankyou FoodSaver for still haveing the parts to fix our Money Saving Machine. We again use this Machine very often And hard to live without. Our Daughter bought A diff Brand And in one year replaced It with A Foodsaver she is A very happy camper now.Thank you For A GREAT PRODUCT!!

My FoodSaver Works Like Brand New!!
After many years of reliable use my FoodSaver V2240 began to lose its ability to remove all the air out of the bags. I initially began shopping for a replacement vacuum sealer, when I realized I could buy new gaskets. The prices for the replacement gaskets were so reasonable that I decided to take a chance on repairing versus replacement. I purchased the replacement gaskets and also ordered the seal profile. The parts arrived very quickly and were so simple to install. Couldn't wait to test out the performance and I was totally amazed. My vacuum sealer works like the first time I used it. My thanks to FoodSaver for allowing me to rejuvenate my vacuum sealer.

My food saver is a few years old and I have saved a ton of money with it. Well recently, it took longer to seal. So I read about it on the internet that a gasket should be changed every year. So I ordered a new one and the old one was truly rotten when I removed it. its wonder it worked as long as it did. I installed the new one and my food saver work as well as it did when it was new. I know people that put there food savers in the trash and all they needed was 3.00 dollar gasket. I plan to change my gasket every year instead of every three years. thank you food saver, I will save another ton of money.

Worked great in the beginning
I upgraded my foodsaver to the stainless V2840. Was pleased with it until I started having problems with the vaccum cycle. I thought the rubber gasket was failing so i ordered a new one from foodsaver. The good news is it arrived quickly, the bad news is it didn't solve my problem. This foodsaver saw very limited use until it stopped working for me. The reason I didn't recommended it was I felt It saw very little usage to have quit working. (30 to 40 packages through it) I could have recieved a lemon, but I've heard good things from others about foodsaver. It was money down the drain for me.

Makes it work like new again
I've been using my Food Saver on a nearly daily basis for the last 2+ years. Recently the gaskets started sticking together any time I would open it - what a pain. I do use it to seal things like potato chip bags & frozen veggies in their original bags so it's inevitable that they start to transfer some of the print or seal a bit too hot for the plastic thus leaving some residue which built up over time.
However, when I slipped in the new gaskets - not only did the sticking stop but the sealer worked better. I hadn't noticed that it was taking longer until I put the new gasket in & the sealing time dropped and my mason jar sealer went back to a super tight seal.

These are extending the life of my Food Saver.
After 7 years of use, my Food Saver was losing suction and all the air was not being removed from the bags. I thought I was going to have to purchase a new one, but decided to check online to see if there was a fix for this problem. I found that just replacing the sealing gaskets fixed the problem. I would say that it is almost "as good as new". Obviously, after , 7 years of use, it will eventually need to be replaced. Especially since I have begun to use it for more and more foods.

My FM 3941 will not seal a bag. If I make a bag from a roll, it will seal the bag when inserted to start the bag. When I fill the bag, the vacuum works fie but when it is done vacuuming, the bag is not sealed.

Since it seals correctly when making a bag but not after vacuuming, this may point to an issue such as the sealing strip not heating properly, debris on the sealing area, or the bag not being positioned correctly across the sealing gasket.
