Not the part I thought I was ordering
I was disappointed to have spent $10 on this then to find out the live chat person did not guide me correctly. It was not the part that I described I needed and the picture and description of the part were unclear. I needed the heat element not a rubber gasket. I am tired of spending over $100 on a new unit every couple of years. I use my vacuum sealer a lot, but have found the FoodSaver brand to not hold up very well.

Wrong part, doesn't fix sealing problem
I don't know if my first review went through, got an error so trying again. Our Foodsaver 4840 worked to seal bags a few times then it was hit or miss. It was very frustrating so finally just quit using it which is waste since the machine was nearly $200. Decided to try again for this hunting season and so store food I cook ahead and was directed to this part to fix the sealing problem yet what I ended up with is a rubber part that as far as I can tell doesn't fix anywhere in my machine. It certainly does nothing to fix the sealing problem. Tried calling, and was told I must make contact through their website. I will try but what a frustrating mess to deal with. An expensive machine like this one should last years and I shouldn't be replacing parts after using it so little, and parts shouldn't be so hard to find what is needed.

What a waste of time and money!
It was bad enough that I wasted so much of my time trying to figure out which seal proifile went to my FM2000, but when I received the part I could not believe it did not come with installation instructions! Icing on the cake was the amount of time I spent trying to find installation instructions on the website, only to realize that they don't have them! So not only was this a waste of money, but it was also a big waste of my time!

Seal is horrible
Less than a year and broken seal. Food Saver does not have any in stock. Pure garbage!! This is my second Food Saver. The first one broke within five years.

2 machines hardly used aND NO CUSTOMER HELP THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME RIP OFF I SPENT MOREMONEY ON BAGS THAT FAIL THEY SEAL BUT NOT VACCUME AIR OR VISE VERSA WASTE OF TIME AND LOTS OF MONEY

Try following directions
I had a problem with my unit, not sealing properly and all it took was removing the gasket and putting it back in and making sure everything was super clean and now it seals again!

Without it, the unit cannot build enough vacuum pressure or maintain a tight seal during the heating cycle. Unfortunately in Vacuum Sealer FM5380-033 both upper and lower gaskets are not removable, as so they are not replaceable. In this situation it is recommended to clean the gaskets and the area around them after every use for the best overall performance f the unit. Hope this information helps.
