  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup dulce de leche
  • 1 tsp large-flake sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small cubes

  1. In a bowl, toss together apples, flour, granulated sugar, cornstarch, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In small bowl, mix together dulce de leche, sea salt, and vanilla paste; drizzle over apples. Stir to combine; add butter.
  2. Transfer apple mixture to FoodSaver Bag. Vacuum seal in the FoodSaver® Compact Vacuum Sealer according to appliance guidelines.
  3. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours, or freeze. Thaw before using.

  • Alternatively, use as a filling for apple crumbles or cook in a large saucepan set over medium heat, stirring often, until apples are tender and juices are thickened
  • Use as a topping for pancakes, French toast, or serve with vanilla ice cream
  • Substitute vanilla extract for vanilla paste if desired
  • Bake filling in double pie crust in 9-inch deep-dish pie pan. Brush crust with egg beaten with 1 tbsp milk before baking. Using sharp knife, make three slits in top of pie. Bake in 425 degree F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F; bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until crust is golden brown, and filling is thick and bubbling
