The FoodSaver® FreshSaver® Red Handheld Vacuum Sealing System
This is great when you're on the move!
This is my second handheld sealer because I gave my first one to a friend that marvelled at how easy it is to use, how portable it is and how fast it seals the zipper bags.
Many times, rather than go to my large FoodSaver machine, I just grab the handheld and re-seal a bag.
I wish it came in some nice designs and colors, although that doesn't matter... what matters is how great the handheld is overall. I recommend it highly!

Just the right size.
I love my counter top Food Saver system. The thing is, it just wouldn't work in our small RV. This handheld vacuum is just the right size. I've had mine for a few days and, after charging for the required 24 hours, had to give it a "test drive". I packaged salami and cheese perfectly!
This will be a great addition to our travels as it will help provide more efficiency in a compact space, plus food doesn't hold up as well in the RV refrigerator as the one at the house (savings!). Bonus... I'm vacuuming up a couple of emergency kits (matches, bandages, chewable aspirin, etc.) to put in the hiking pack!

This machine has changed my life. Cold cuts and hard cheeses are just a few of the uses for this machine. Grab a back and the machine from the counter and get a quick seal.
I like that smaller bags better. Have had some difficulty getting a good seal with the larger and the hard sided containers. Sometimes they seal and sometimes they don't.
My big machine is in a cabinet, no room on counter top. So this little machine fits the bill. Just lift it off the bag when enough seal has been reached and food stays fresh. Just don't do a full seal on your sliced cheese as it will create a block of cheese.

The fresh saver is a money saver!!!
First we have been a foodsaver user for many years. So I have faith in the product. When we got our first fresh saver a couple of years ago. we really liked the ease of use and convienence. It is great to help fruits, vegetables, cheeses last longer in the fridge. It is great to help keep sandwiche meats and leftovers fresher and last longer. We bought our second one today because our first one (after over two years of use, just wouldn't charge) died. It's a great product and I highly recommend for anyone.

Hand Held, Red
I've had my cordless, handheld sealer for almost a year now. I got it because someone gave me a set of cannisters and I wanted to be able to use them. I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen, so this is perfect. it fits right behind the toaster on my counter. If the charge is low, it takes no time at all to charge. The red is great for my kitchen since it matches a lot of the accessoires and small appliances I have in my kitchen.

Not as useful or handy as the old model .
I purchased this sealer as my only option since you took the easy hand held wand type (WineSaver/FreshSaver) off the market. I was so pleased with my true hand held that fit in it's little "holster" that took only minimum space on the counter, was always handy and sealed my jars of juice or left overs in seconds. Oh well...things change. All my other friend "juicers" are hoping their original hand helds keep going.

It works well
I love it and it works well, the only very minor issue I have is you never really know when it is fully charged, when I first got it I charged it for over 24 hours and the red light never went out or turned green. But it really does work very well in removing air out of the reusable vacuum seal bags over and over.

Good for dry foods, and ONLY dry foods
I bought this for everyday use. My definition of everyday use is dry and wet food. It didn't work, AT ALL, for wet, even damp, food. Like if you're going to and package some steak, you better paper towel them off. The slightest amount of moisture will get sucked into the machine and make a mess. If you're just going to use this for dry food, it's for you, if not, spend the money for a bigger one.
