INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 cups sliced peaches
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make a FoodSaver vacuum seal bag using the FoodSaver Multi-Use Vacuum Sealing & Food Preservation System. Turn the latch to “Open” and open the lid. After pulling out enough of the desired bag material, turn the latch to “Operate,” then “Seal” to create a seal for the bag.
  2. Place peaches into FoodSaver gallon sized bag, then mix in sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. To seal the bags, use the FoodSaver Multi-Use Vacuum Sealing & Food Preservation System. Place the bag in the drip tray, select “moist” mode and press “vacuum.”
  4. Once sealed, place in freezer until ready to use.
  5. When ready to make the cobbler, remove from freezer and thaw.
  6. Preheat the oven for 400 degrees F.
  7. Empty the filling into a baking dish.
  8. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pulse the shortening until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Add milk and stir until mixture is evenly moistened.
  9. Spread topping on top of filling in baking dish.
  10. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
