Plastic Port Insert Easily Breaks
Wish FoodSaver would make the top part only available as it is the piece that breaks easily. The bottom liquid chamber part is available separately, but that piece has never broken, I now own six of those. The top part with hose always seems to break in the port, the plastic connection has broken on five that I've owned. Its getting expensive to replace the entire unit. FOODSAVER: Why do you offer the liquid chamber only but not the top part that is the piece that easily breaks? I keep repurchasing this part because it is necessary when using the bags. My FM2000 fits in my drawer and works fairly well, but this part could be better made.

Poor design.... Cheap
I have model # FM2100-000 machine and this is the 2nd one of this tubing I am going to have to order and pay for.... the part that goes into the port on the machine is a cheap plastic and breaks no matter how careful you are with it... Of course you can't just order the tubing for $3.00, (no way to change it) If have to buy the whole unit for the $14.99 each time.... With all the complaints I have read regarding the cheap plastic tip on this product, i would have thought they would have improved it by now... And NO, I would not recommend it.

Resealable Zip Close Bags Need This
Invalable accessory for vacuum sealing resealable bags. Works as expected. But, the male connector that attaches it to the vacuum sealer is a weak point. Poor design. Too easy to break when removing it from the port. Point of fact, my original broke within 6 months. It snaps very tight into the port making removal difficult. Kudos to Foodsaver customer service, they sent me a knew one at no cost. Therefore, you can buy with confidence.

Does not work on V4860 without modification
I specifically called to find out if this part worked on my wife's V4860, and I was told it would work. I figured there would be some instructions or something, as I did not see any straightforward way to open the skins of the V4860. The unit arrived, without any instructions for installation on the V4860. I contacted support again, and they said it would not work, and they wanted me to send the serial #, etc. My wife uses this thing constantly, so sending it out for a few weeks was not appealing. I ended up fixing the problem by snipping off the old hose at a right angle, soaked the end in hot water for a minute, and then jamming it on to the end of the new unit. After it cooled, it worked. It's not optimum, but it works 100% now, does everything the old one did.

Improve Please
I have purchased 3 of these in less than a year now. I just replaced another today. This item really needs improvement because the little green part that attaches to the unit breaks easily. Food Saver needs to improve this item because it is not reliable at all.

Very handy but again the green end is subpar.
I've had the same issue with the green male end connector.
This most recent one lasted 4 months. I now have a drawer full of useless accessory hoses. At 15.00 apiece I could toss my unit and buy a different brand. I just bought a bag of zipper deli bags and have no way to use them.
When it works it's great,but the low quality of the green male end is a deal breaker.

I so loved this attachment, then it failed.
Short but sweet: this attachment is a great idea, and necessary for MOST of what I want to use my FoodSaver 2100 for; alas, it breaks. EASILY. And I would not currently recommend a FoodSaver at all. If it can’t hold up to light use, a redesign might be a good idea. For now, I’m frustrated, have tried to inquire about help, and have even been asked to send in photos, which I did, and now, crickets. Not a good practice, and maybe not a good machine. I’m very disappointed.

Necessary purchase.
New FoodSaver Handheld Sealer=NFSHS. Good quality. If you use any containers, this is a must. Fantastic and wonderful in my opinion when I use it. It does 2 things when used properly. It produces a very high sounding SQUEAL when it is PULLED OFF AT AN ANGLE and at the same time IT PRODUCES a very deep distinctive DIMPLE in the middle of the gray rubber seal when your done vacuuming. After a while the sound of the SQUEAL and quality of the DIMPLE will determine the degree/quality of the vacuum. That's one nice thing I'm finding about this NFSHS, is that if I want to check the vacuum, I just pull the containers out and physically check the DIMPLE. You'll get to KNOW THE SOUND of a good/bad SQUEAL, believe me.

Hello! Please, find below a few tips that can help with the aforementioned issue: 1. Your FoodSaver appliance might not be vacuuming at its desired potential and can be showing signs of being overheated. Avoid vacuum-sealing large quantities of food in succession and allow the unit to rest with the lid open for at least 20 seconds between each seal - as FA20000 is connected to the unit, it may also influence its work. 2. Check the sealed area. A wrinkle, moisture or food material along the sealing area will prevent to complete a successful seal and allowing air to leak out form the bag or roll. It is important to make sure there is no moisture in this area. If the food attempted to vacuum-seal was rather oily or greasy, the juices can spill liquids that prevent the bag to seal correctly. Holes might appear and leakages allowing air to sweep out from the bag. Try to pre-freeze your food to avoid excess of juices. Another alternative is to use our Liquid Block Bags ensuring that the sealing is cleaned. For dry food, make sure the unit is levelled and the bag is firmly stretched while inserting. 3. From FoodSaver we recommend vacuum-sealing always with the smooth side of the bag facing up. 4. Check your bag for punctures. In order to test it, please make a bag from your roll, seal both ends and submerge the created bag for a few seconds in water and look for bubbles. To remove the reservoir from the handheld sealer, hold the top portion (black upper piece) firmly and pull the lower reservoir down and off. I hope this information proves useful.
