Description
This FoodSaver Multi-Use Food Preservation System combines the power of a heat sealer with the convenience of a retractable handheld vacuum sealer, in one unit. Use the heat seal strip for long-term preservation in the freezer, and the handheld sealer for short-term preservation in the fridge or pantry. Poorly Designed
Unless you're sealing food that is entirely flat or hanging off the counter, the downwards angle of the lid makes it impossible to seal your food without wasting an incredible amount of material. Then for some reason the cutting blade is positioned within the seal, so the first time using this I ended up cutting open the bag I just created... Tried using this to replace my GameSaver sealer which had separate issues after a short time and it turned out to be a bad decision.

Desperation leads to frustration
My old foodsaver gave up after many years and it was the beginning of the pandemic and everyone was hoarding everything. A replacement was hard to find. I was desperate and drove to 3 stores (50 miles) and finally found this. We've been nursing this junk and I've about had enough. Terrible ergonomics, fails to seal, ...

After having Vacuum Sealer #V3880 for more than 5 years I purchase model #VS3180. The Vacuum Sealer had very little suction...it took 5 or more minutes to vacuum & seal 2 frozen Chicken Thighs. Attempted to seal 2 more. The bag popped inside the machine.
I returned the machine to COZTCO.

Great for 3 months!
I bought this 2 and 1/2 months ago and it has already quit vacuuming. I cleaned the gaskets, and the drip tray. Nothing worked! I had a different one for 6 years and absolutely loved it, this one, not so much. I would not recommend this one at all! You would think this would last longer!

Does not function after minimal use.
Does not function properly. Worked okay the first time, but upon second attempt to use it, the seals didn’t hold the two times it worked (waiting until the seal light shut off), but it mostly just won’t do anything when set to run. Checked and rechecked everything, wiped everything down, unplugged it several times, and tried every reposition I could think of. Haven’t even gotten through the included bags yet, but sadly let more than a year go by so can’t take it back. And now I have 12 salmon fillets sitting in gallon ziplock bags. This was an expensive mistake.

Love this vacuum sealer!
I love this FoodSaver vacuum sealer! Not only does it work great at vacuuming and sealing, it also has a handheld vacuum sealer that works perfectly with resealable bags and the 10-cup Preserve & Marinate Container, which is my favorite feature! It has several settings including moist, dry, marinate and sous vide to handle all your needs. It also has a place to store the roll that is an added convenience. This unit is very easy to use and works great!!

Great features!
I recieved this about a week or so ago. Boy was I shocked! The Foodsaver multi use system is absolutely awesome! I have an older one, but this one has the rolls of bags built right in!! The other built in feature is the built in hand pump! The design is sleek not bulky. You can go from bag to hand pump containers! I would highly recommend this food saver. Awesome product. Great for making bulk items stay fresher and last longer .A must buy!!!!

Do not put this charge through on my card, I will check card statement and dispute any charge for this order. Can you explain? This would be third time buying your product over the years and am completely confused, you have always been a professional operation, until now. Please correct this error. Sent it back…twice!
Gave our son the old foodsaver and got this. It does not clamp down tight enough to get a vacuum on the bag without pushing down hard on the top. I know our old unit required you to push but this does not. Even then it didn’t work as well as the old one. Exchanged the first unit but the second unit was even worse. Think I’ll try another brand. Nesco makes one that will double seal if you choose.

This design is horrible. First off the bags are sealed on the LONG END. I'm used to a very old version where the bags sealed on the short end making it easier if you wanted a small bag of something (raspberries) without having a ton of waste.
With the opening on the bad being on the long end it makes it very hard to get it into the 'drip tray' to get it so vacuumed seal. I actually can never get it to vacuumed with the green drip tray in place I always end up dating it out. and heaven forbid you have any amount of liquid in you bag.
You have to have multiple hands in order to use this. You have to be able to put all your food on one side of the bag to get it into the vacuumed sealer part but you have to pull down the the food saver and latch it, so if you have something you don't want squished you have to have sure a big bag, wasting materials.
the design is horrible and half the time does not even work. I've tried for several months with mostly produce, raspberries, blue berries, shredded zucchini all for freezing. This is just so frustrating and doesn't work. I will be returning this and trying to find the older version used since i know how to use that one and it's much easier to use!

We purchased this at Costco. It was not as fast as our very old and simple food saver that we keep in our RV, if it sealed at all. The vacuum pump would run but not pull a vacuum. We really liked the angle of the sealer which makes it easier to seal soups, so we exchanged it for the same. The second unit would not seal at all.
Ended up going with a different brand.

Sucks, and not in a good way
This piece of junk won’t vacuum and seal a bag. I’ve used it a handful of times, and it barely worked. You have to reposition the bag numerous times to get it to suck and seal. Tried it today and can’t get it to seal. It vacuums way too long and won’t seal. Total junk. The first little one we had was great. This one is horrible.

I don't know if it's just me. I've had two previous models and they were great, easy to use, got the job done. I am a heavy user. This model seems inelegant and just a pain to use. Like I said, maybe it's just me, but the process to make a bag isn't clear enough. The other models were a dream. This lid is small and doesn't stay open to be able to position the bag to be sealed causing me to burn my hand a few times and never got it positioned to seal it. In my opinion, this model is poorly designed.

Not sturdy enough for dry canning
It’s probably brilliant for bag sealing. I wanted to use it for dry jar sealing. Bought the accessories kit. 1st attempt the plastic piece snapped off. I still believe in the brand. Not all products are the best for everything. I will be looking for a saver with a port now.

Don’t buy it- broke after 5 uses
We have used this sealer 5 times. Tried to use it 6th time and it with not vacuum seal. I’ve tried everything I the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual. Don’t buy! I am now stuck with box of bags that I can no longer use. Save your money.

I have used this less than a dozen times and very dissatisfied with it. Lets start with the cord storage-very inadeaquate. Takes a lot of manipulating to get it to that small cavity. Then the vacumn power is very weak. Not any where near the power of the one it replaced. It also is awkward to use. The hand held wand it constantly falling out of its storage spot. What a pain!
No-I would not recommend this model to anyone. If I could find my receipt, I would return to the place of purchase.

Love the design
Replaced my old food saver (that was still going strong) with this new model and it works as advertised. I got this particular model because it matches everything else in my kitchen and I love the looks of it. It comes with plenty of bags to last you a while and the plastic container is big enough to store just about any left over meal. The machine is very easy to use and works extremely well. I vacuumed sealed about 20 bags of homemade jerky and I didn't have any issues with it.

I'm super happy about the Food Saver. It's a total game changer in regards to keeping my families food fresher for much longer. I'm able to buy fresh meat in bulk and portion it out and vacuum seal it to keep it fresh. While only using what I need to feed my family without wasting any and saving money buying in bulk. I love how quick and easy to use it is. I've always wanted one and I've heard such great things about it. I love how versatile it is for everything not just food.

Returning today
Bought this yesterday to start saving money and started this morning, following all directions and tips this machine just doesn't do the trick. Vacuum runs a real long time but does pull all the air out only to let it back in as it seals. Then it does not completely seal, I can hit the Vacuum button again and it pulls the air back out of a sealed bag. The only thing that worked very well was the hand help Vacuum with the excessary bags. So disappointing.
