Horrible customer service...bad product
My machine worked good when I used the premade bags with the holes in them and the tool that goes with that. But when I tried to use the machine with bags I cut myself, it would not seal on its own. The suction just kept going and never turned off to seal. I started manually sealing the bags but decided I wanted it to work the right way. I tried contacting the company and they had suggestions for me to try which I did. Nothing changed. I emailed them and told them I would like to return the product but I can't get a response. I am sure by the time they do respond, the return period will be over and I will be stuck with this useless machine.

No luck
Received the FM2100 Father's Day 2017, came back from deployment excited to the machine. OMG! 1moment it vacuums nex moment nothing. Few more wks good as a whistle then it just gave up on vacum. Received the FM2450 on 3/27/18 & got 2 good dry seals out of six. Today, jus off the phone w/ rep to complain and request the 4980,which I know is ways away from the 2450 and its on sell @ $99 today and cheaper. Also has better online review(Google). Well got turned down from that option so I guess I'll just sell the next 2450 I receive to non family member in case they become upset. Ongoing case # is 10243388, in the process to receive 3rd machine soon.

Best way to Save Money!
Quite simply, money saver & ease of use!
I am a long time user of FoodSavor products, actually many, many decades of using their products. I have seen the vacuum machines change and improve over the years. I always have my machine handy to store just about anything I want to preserve in my freezer, but it has many other uses too! I am retired now, but even when our kids were home stretching our dollars was alway important. I can buy in bulk when things are on sale and have no fear of the freshness months later when I want to use.
Sometimes you need to spend a little money, in order to save a lot of money!

I Love This Product!!
We bought this 2 months ago and don't know why we didn't buy it sooner! No more freezer burned food and longer freezer storage time!
We use the quart and gallon zipper bags for food that we'll use and reseal often. We use the roll bags mostly for one time seal and use foods
For those who have issues with the vacuum never ending and switching to seal mode, you either need to unplug the hand sealer from the accessory port or press the port against your countertop to stop vacuum loss.
Personally, I press mine against the countertop since plugging/unplugging the handheld sealer will eventually lead to breaking the plug end.

Died after 4 weeks
I replaced an older model Foodsaver with this one. I've had it for 4 weeks and the motor is glitchy. It turns on, lights up. When I press the button, it works for 1 or 2 seconds and then dies. It seems to come back to life occasionally but then dies again. I checked on a warranty replacement but I have to mail it back to Foodsaver out of pocket. Luckily I bought mine at Amazon and it's still in the return window so I can return in there. I'm very disappointed. Looking into other brands. Given the quality issues, suggest buying it from a place with free return shipping!

Not good!
DO NOT BUY! Worthless product. I did my research and bought it based on the positive reviews. Mine does NOT perform to the level of the other reviews. The first 3 things I sealed, it worked great! But it has been nothing but a piece of junk ever since. The motor won’t rev up to the rpms needed for the sealer to kick in, I have to mash down on the top with all my might to make the sealer kick in, then it doesn’t seal about 75% of the time. What good is a vacuum sealer that doesn’t seal??? This machine frustrates me and I wish that I had gone with a different model! Customer service has been no help either. I’ve tried all of their recommendations and nothing I have to pay for the shipping! What good is a warranty if you still have to pay any money to get it fixed? Buyer beware!

Leftovers - but you wouldn't know it!
I hate to waste food. My husband can't stand leftovers. I usually end up eating what I can and throwing the rest out. I heard a pod cast about why leftovers taste crummy. It's about the defrost mechanism in freezers, it heats up the freezer periodically to keep ice from forming in the freezer. However, this also causes condensation build up on your food and freezer burn. Vacuum sealing the food prevents this. I was so happy to receive my FoodSaver from Stellar. It totally works. The leftover's taste freshly cooked. My husband couldn't believe it. He is a convert and I am loving that we are not nearly as wasteful.

This sealer is so easy to use! The hand held sealer is such a nice addition. I know too that Foodsaver is a product I can have confidence in.
Now I can buy anything in bulk and save money. Not only that, it will mean fewer trips to the store and less temptations which will save me even more money. I’m particularly excited about sealing individual meals. This will mean more variety verses eating leftovers night after night!
For a long time I thought a food sealer wasn’t practical for one person. After exploring the possibilities, I’ll never be without one!

Always leave the lid latch in the store position when not in use. Never store the lid in the operate position, as gaskets may become compressed and the unit will not vacuum bag. I have a FoodSaver model V2480. I also have many of your canisters that I used. The plastic port that connects the machine to the canister has cracked and now I can no longer vacuum any air, only seal. Does your new machine work with your old canisters?
