After searching the internet, we discovered this is a common failure and the hose is not available. No way to purchase a hose. Now we have a seni-worthless Foodsaver (cant use for mason jars or reusable bags).

Rated 1 out of 5 by Leeuh from Will not vacuum. Bags are thin and don't seal. After using this only once, it will not pull a vacuum! I had just bought some meat and needed to seal and freeze it so it wouldn't go bad, and my FoodSaver would not pull a vacuum at all! Even worse, it sealed the bag before any of the air was out, so it left my meat in worse shape than if I had just used a ziplock freezer bag, and wasted the FiodSaver bags inhad since I had to cut them open before even using them. Also, the bags are so much thinner than they used to be and the seal is not very good at all. The roll I recieved was wrinkled and will not hold a proper vacuum seal. Complete waste of money! This brand and products used to be top notch whereas now the quality has plummeted but the cost is the same! I woukd give 0 Stars if i could.

We are very disappointed because we really wanted to get it replace but now its to late because we no longer have it.

This one you have to cut a bag, seal it & then out in the food to vacuum seal but uses both large & small bags. Also has the attachment to seal ziplocks & containers. I love this one.

I stopped using it for 2 days and when I used it again it’s still has that clicking noise. This product is a piece of junk and it’s impossible to get hold of customer service. Returned and until now ( over a month) still no refund.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Good then Bad from Stopped the vacuum for removing the air I received this as a wedding gift and maybe used it 1/2 dozen times and then we bought a side of beef....sealed up about 5 packages and no it won't vacuum out the air...it Seals just fine...we followed the troubleshooting points and are now back to using Ziplock baggies....I will definitely be calling the company on this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by whocareswhoib from Handheld Connection is Faulty on Three Machines I have owned three of this model, it seals well and is easy to clean and fits in a drawer. The negative is that the handheld device never stays locked into place when using it, I always have to HOLD IT IN at the same time while holding the handheld part on the bag or container. This is annoying. The plastic piece that inserts into the machine is not broken, even though I have also replaced it hoping for one that works. I can only conclude that the slot on the machine itself is not built properly to house the connection. So with that caveat, I say it is a good machine for its purpose and size with reservation on the handheld feature. I use the machine and find the bags that don't require the handheld to be the best option for me.

My first was a small unit that fit on my NYC apartment counter and when it died I was concerned. All the units seemed so big! Until I found this one. It does the bags as well as accommodating my hose for my foodsaver containers. The adapter size did change, so I needed a new hose to make the conversion, but it's fine. Just be sure to replace your gaskets when the seals start to degrade. I don't see how they could prevent that, unless they find a new material to use for them.

I am VERY disappointed in the models you offer now! Our’s died and we had to get another one. We took our first purchase back because it was difficult to insert the bag. We exchanged it for another model. This one is NOT sealing well. There are gaps in the seal. When you’re freezing corn, it’s very disheartening to go back to the freezer and see that your bags have expanded and filled with air. Our last one was model # V3425. Please bring it back!

I use it when I go bulk shopping or harvest from my garden. It still works GREAT!! I used to have 6 or more peopIe to feed; this machine kept the food nice & fresh until I took it out of the freezer. I may, at times, have trouble finding the bags for it, but they are the same as the newer models. I am now purchasing a newer model for my daughter-in-law; it will be her FIRST!! I'm sure she'll love it as I do.

You have to seal the end and cut with scissors, put your food in and the vacuum seal the open end. I bought mine from Walmart and did not even imagine they did not have the roll compartment or the blade to cut your bags. I would not buy this again and would not have spent $89 had I know about these changes

I have and always have used FoodSaver vacuum seal bags, on my Abox vac sealer and no problems. But now that I have had to get a new machine I decided, hey their bags are good let me try out their machine. To my avail, it effortlessly removes the air from the bag, hit seal. And wouldn't you know it, it cannot seal the bag well enough to prevent air from IMMEDIATELY re-entering the bag. I am absolutely annoyed, as it clearly states on the manual and box that it will supposedly work with all FOODSAVER bags.

Rated 1 out of 5 by danied from Do not recommend if you need a port accessory this new version is rendered inoperable if you need to use the port accessory. i use my sealer everyday, and when my old one finally died (after many many uses) i bought this new model. The accessory port connections break off in the machine which forces me to throw away my unit or purchase new ports & hoses. I bought 3 replacements, and the new connections don't even fit. After this bad experience, I found there are dozens and dozens of people complaining about the same issue, and food saver does nothing about it. I will be buying a new unit from a different company. what a shame this great product is ruined by a failure of the company to address the legitimate concerns of there (used to be) faithful customers.

Accessory hose port broke after 13 months and they are no longer available probably because there are so many complaints. Called Support, after on hold for 35 minutes, was answered by rep and told to order FA2000 handheld sealer and ASSURED by rep it would work to seal Mason Jars with Accessory. IT DOES NOT! It is for sealing only Foodsaver's canisters (which also don't hold the seal long). Wasted my money ordering wrong part and now this Foodsaver unit only seals bags and will be thrown out. Looking for another manufacturer as the quality and support from Foodsaver is poor.

I did all the troubleshooting and still nothing. I did contact company and since sending it back I have received no communication from them. I have emailed several times and still no response this has been an issue since July. Very disappointed in the company response to my issue.

I should have sent it back after the first use. It's not powerful enough to suck the air out of the bags. Bags that do seem to seal don't hold the seal and I have had to throw away food because of freezer burn. The hose attached to the back for the reusable bags, has no housing. It just falls out of the "cupholder". I got the unit back in March and today (October) it failed. Less than a year. I am very disappointed in this unit/design.

The grease tray is not big enough and it is slanted, causing grease to to spill out. Also, the bags dont seal well when there is grease involved (ex: trying to freeze cooked hamburger), causing me to have to vac/seal 4-5 times before the bag will finally seal. There is a lot of 'wasted empty bag' between your food and where the bag actually seals. Not happy with the Food Saver brand. Will be switching for a more industrial/durable vacuum sealer.
