Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, But... I love these bags, they should have came out with them years ago, however I have learned that they are NOT microwaveable or boil in bag, so lesson learned and still love them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't be misled by the one and two star people! Before I bought this product I read the reviews. I took the negative comments seriously. I simply have NOT had any of the problems they list. Of course, in time, all zip lock bags wear out. Mine have worked fine, not a single malfunction in multiple sealings, un-sealings, sealings, and un-sealings. I DO find I have to run my thumb over the zipper several times to make sure they are sealed. This process works great. I use them in the refrigerator to keep vegetables fresh. It also keeps the vegetables from outgassing and ruining each other. I even wash the bag out after use, dry it carefully and reuse it. I use the gallon and the smaller size, as well. Excellent product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to save money I always have gallon and quart bags in my home. I can't calculate how much money they have saved me over the years, both by allowing me to buy in bulk, even just for the 2 of us, and keeping food from freezer burns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size We buy meat and chicken in bulk, then we freeze then in your gallon bags. Works great and last along time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for perishable snacks Bought these to try with rolls. I discovered too late they are not good for soft items ( portion of the manual I skipped over). The rolls were squished flat. They're great with hard stuff like sourdough pretzel chunks. I Haven't had the chance to try them with anything else other than these two items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insuring a good seal Like others, I originally had problems with loosing a bag's pre-seal. There are some things I learned after over 2 years using these bags (I now use them nearly exclusively): 1) it's important to keep the zip-lok area clean. ANY!!! food bits that lodge in that area from filling the bag will cause failure. After filling the bag-I always take a slightly damp cloth& wipe the entire zip seam (takes only a few seconds)-then inspec the seam for ANY particles. I then lay the seam on a solid surface and wipe the seal closed from one side to the other - 3x back and forth. I have used 100s of these bags and never a failure.2) If liquids are present (Meat blood or juices - PREFREEZE the bag UNSEALED to solidify those lquids (maybe 12-24 hrs). They can't flow frozen so remove the bag and seal it like that insuring the zip area is totally free of contaminants. This reduces the need for the special liquid block bags that are twice the price. I got the top-end sealer and now never use it - I always use the hand sealer for bags and plastic bins. Never a problem. Don't rush to condemn the sealer - it takes a little practice to get it right every time - just like anything. A clean zip area is the trick.
