How easy is it to use these for soups or meals with a lot of liquid? Is there a sealer you can use while the bag is standing up or would I have try to lay the bag down on the counter and keep the liquid from running out?

Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver ®! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! You can use our FoodSaver® Easy Fill 1 Gallon Vacuum Sealer Bags for vacuuming soups however you cannot vacuum seal a soup while it is a liquid. The way you get around all this is to freeze the soup first and then vacuum seal it. Put the soup or stew in a container and place it in the freezer after. Once that soup is frozen, take it out of the freezer and move it into a vacuum seal bag. With a solid substance, you'll be able to tightly vacuum seal that soup without flooding your drip tray. Hope this information helps. Should you have any inquiries or further questions, please let us know by sending an email through our FoodSaver® website or you may call us at our toll-free number 1-877-777-8042. For your convenience, we are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, EST. Thank you for choosing FoodSaver®

Get a Foodsaver vacuum device and 2 boxes each of pint, quart and gallon-sized pre-cut freezer bags and you are all set. The two of us use them for meats, etc. because the bags can be stored flat until frozen, then placed like books in a bookshelf for storage. You can use colored permanent markers to write on the bags or color code bags by contents. Red=beef, and so on... You can also freeze individual servings/meals, a la old style TV dinners, and then warm/thaw them directly in the bags using hot water. Snip bag and throw in microwave...no mess hot food. Possibilities are endless. Vacuum sealing also prevents freezer burn and saves you money. You can also buy rolls of bag material and hand cut them to size before sealing one end, loading, then sealing open end. Custom bag sizes possible this way and rolls are cheaper yet. Enjoy!!
