Use these FoodSaver Preserve & Marinate Vacuum Containers to lock in freshness and seal in flavor, with 2 different settings to choose from. Turn the valve to Vacuum Mode and attach to a handheld sealer (sold separately) to help keep food fresh in the freezer, fridge, and pantry. Or switch to Marinate Mode to marinate meat, fish, and veggies in minutes instead of hours. These convenient FoodSaver containers nest and stack to help keep your kitchen organized and are designed with premium Tritan material for extreme durability, so they won't crack or stain. These containers have a long-lasting vacuum seal, a flexible lid with easy-open tabs, and are dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup. They're compatible with all FoodSaver vacuum sealer systems.

Food last longer, saves money and less waste.
I really do like these containers, but I recommend that one check the containers every couple of days to be sure the seal dot remains down. I noticed that depending upon the type of veggie, these seal dots will pop up, within a couple of days. It is of no consequence as I just reseal the container. What I have been doing is do the seal procedure, wait a few seconds and reseal again. This way I can be sure that all the air is out and that I have a good seal. It is important to be sure that no food is in the way of the center seal area, or close to the sides of the container's seal as this will impede the unit from a proper seal. Also be sure that veggies like lettuce, spinach, etc., are towel dried before placing into container and then proceed with sealing.

Potentially Dangerous
Worked fine for a year then top exploded on me about minute after vacuuming while I was placing into fridge. Emailed customer service even proving original order number. Crickets. Shows you how concerned company is… Have Food Saver Brand cylinder-style containers x5 older than these and they are built much better. Disappointed those are no longer available.

After my wife died it became even more important when I ended up cooking for one. When she was alive we would break down our costco purchases. Now, while I still do that I also save my leftovers.

Review: Second generation vacuum sealed containers
First generation vacuum sealed containers didn’t last very long without getting cracks in the structure itself.
This one shown above is what I consider the second generation vacuum sealed container, which is a superior design that I would recommend purchasing it. Highly useful… I have three of each size available.
Only place these products in the top rack of the dishwasher.

Great product
I bought the 10 cup marinate container about 15-20 years ago. I love it! We have used it often and appreciated having it …until it got dropped and cracked a month or so ago. DEFINITELY buying this one again.

Beware Implosion of 10-Cup Container
I purchased this item from Walmart and, while the 3-cup container has held-up well, the 10-cup container suffered a catastrophic failure after only several uses. I contacted customer service and was advised that the best they could do was offer a 20% discount on my next purchase but that it wouldn't include free shipping. After investigating, I found that I could get a better deal on Amazon Prime. I would not recommend the 10-cup container due to the implosion risk.

Life with FOOD SAVER
I am a Food Saver, girl, everything I own anytime I cook, I am lucky enough to put some of it in my Food Saver containers or my bags. I recommend this to everyone I I have purchased this for my daughter, and my very dear friend. I think that everyone should learn how to make the best of their lives with Food Saver, because it saves time and energy. Furthermore, you could always pull out a wonderful meal that you have put in your Food Saver bag, heat it life up and have a dinner that you made 2or 3 weeks ago or even two months ago

I really wish you would sell your 3cup container by its self. I do not have a need for the large 10 cup. You have no other options. Will you get something else sooner? Not erverything goes in a bag which really limits the use of the vac n sealer!

Hello! For vegetables we recommend using FoodSaver Bags, not containers - vegetables have properties that might damage the vacuum in the container. Vegetables need to be blanched before vacuum sealing. This process stops the enzyme action that could lead to loss of flavor, color and texture. In general, blanching helps to reduce the quality loss over time. To blanch vegetables, place them in boiling water or in the microwave until they are cooked, but still crisp. After boiling, immerse vegetables in cold water to stop the cooking process. Finally, dry vegetables on a towel before vacuum sealing. No, the FoodSaver Preserve &amp; Marinate Vacuum Containers do not come with a vacuum hose, but depending on your FoodSaver unit, you should have either a retractable handheld sealer (which will work with all the FoodSaver containers, reusable zipper bags and other accessories) or an attachment hose/handheld sealer which will work without a problem with those containers.
