Hello. We are sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing using our bags and rolls. If your FoodSaver bags or rolls are losing vacuum or seal, please kindly use the following suggestions: 1. If after the vacuum-sealing process the bags and rolls appear to be unvacuumed, your FoodSaver appliance might not be vacuuming at its desired potential and can be showing signs of being overheated. Avoid vacuum-sealing large quantities of food in succession and allow the unit to rest with the lid open for at least 20 seconds between each seal. 2. Check the sealed area. A wrinkle, moisture or food material along the sealing area will prevent to complete a successful seal and allowing air to leak out form the bag or roll. It is important to make sure there is no moisture in this area. If the food attempted to vacuum-seal was rather oily or greasy, the juices can spill liquids that prevent the bag to seal correctly. Holes might appear and leakages allowing air to sweep out from the bag. Try to pre-freeze your food to avoid excess of juices. Another alternative is to use our Liquid Block Bags ensuring that the sealing is cleaned. For dry food, make sure the unit is levelled and the bag is firmly stretched while inserting. 3. From FoodSaver we recommend vacuum-sealing always with the smooth side of the bag facing up. 4. Check your bag for punctures. In order to test it, please make a bag from your roll, seal both ends and submerge the created bag for a few seconds in water and look for bubbles. If the food you are attempting to vacuum-seal has bones or sharp, pointy edges try cushioning the area. 5. Be aware there are certain types of food that should not be sealed. Kindly revise and visit this chart. If the suggested troubleshooting tips do not prove helpful, please contact us directly via https://www.foodsaver.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! FoodSaver® Consumer Care

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us at FoodSaver® . We will be more than happy to answer your question! Our bags can be washed and used again. However, it depends on the previous contents of the bag. FoodSaver® Bags that previously contained fruits, vegetables, breads and dry goods can be washed and reused. FoodSaver® Bags that contained raw meats, fish, eggs or un-pasteurized cheese should be discarded after use because they may contain invisible bacteria that will remain after washing. FoodSaver® Bags that contained greasy or oily foods should also be discarded, as they may be difficult to clean. FoodSaver® Bags can be washed by hand. Dry completely. They can then be re-vacuumed. Our FoodSaver® bags and rolls are not recyclable. Please follow the disposal guidelines and requirements of your local municipality. Hope this information helps. Should you have any inquiries or further questions, please let us know by sending an email through our FoodSaver® website or you may call us at our toll-free number 1-877-777-8042. For your convenience, we are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, EST.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to us at FoodSaver. We will be more than happy to answer your question! You can vacuum seal raw meat, however it is recommended to pre freeze juicy meat and fish before vacuuming as the moisture might get stuck the unit. Some of the vegetables require blanching before vacuum sealing. Fresh cruciferous vegetables emit gasses when they're stored, which means if they're kept in an airtight package, they will cause the plastic bags to expand. This introduction of unwanted gasses will cause your food to go bad quickly. You can find all the step by step information on how to safely vacuum seal vegetables in the link below: https://www.foodsaver.ca/en_CA/blog/archive/2015/january/how-to-vacuum-seal-broccoli-and-other-cruciferous-vegetables.html Hope this information helps. Hello, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver! Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! Although FoodSaver bags are reusable unless food that could cause cross-contamination (such as raw meat) has been stored within them, these bags are not reusable as they require tearing after the microwaving process as indicated on the product's labeling.
