The FoodSaver® V2431 Vacuum Sealing System
The foodsaver has more than one good Quality
The food saver extra are under advertised and they too can have a valuable spot in the kitchen. The hard containers can save individual servings for a future meal. The machine is very easy to use and can also re-seal cereal bags and potato chip bags. Any plastic bag item I have tried worked. But be sure you only seal and not vacuum seal potato chips. The thing is so strong it makes almost powder out of the chips by crushing them.

This product has saved me so much money!
I recently purchased the Food Saver as a Christmas gift for myself. Since its purchase, I have busied myself with stocking my freezer and pantry with food staples that will make cooking meals a breeze! I've even saved money by purchasing large cuts of meat and cutting, portioning, freezing, and sealing them for future use. I used to purchase pre-packaged snack sized nut and dried fruit blends for a quick on-the-go breakfast or mid-afternoon snack. Packaging and vacuum sealing my own blend of nuts, dried fruits and yogurt covered raisins was an easy endeavor and has saved me a ton of money!
The user manual was very informative and gave great tips as far as how to prepare foods to be vacuum sealed using the Food Saver. I haven't had any problems preparing foods and sealing them properly using the guidelines found in the user manual. While I have only had the Food Saver for about a month, I have already saved a lot of money when grocery shopping and anticipate continuing to do so thanks to this amazing product!

I've had several "Food Saver's" over the years, but this unit tops them all. Takes all the guess work out of the operation, just push the right button. Also works with all the accessories that we have accumulated over the years.

Gift for my son and his family
Ever since I bought my own machine a few years back I've had trouble getting it BACK from my son and his family so this year I figured I'd change that. They began to use it Christmas Day! It was amazing, they are also gardeners so preserve that which they produce and love to buy oversized packages of meats which prior had usually gone to waste.
All of these machines are so simple to use and the cost savings is fantastic! Perfect gift for almost anyone!

Great product, easy to use
This is my first food saver. So far it seem a to be doing what I expected. Easy to use. Didn't need one with all the bells and whistles and they all are the same loudness, so if you need to seal bags this should do the trick.
Been having trouble getting a vacuum seal with moist foods. I was told to use paper towels in the bag but this still has not worked. Could be me so I'm still working on the technique.

Very helpful when buying in bulk
We bought our first Food Saver about 8 years ago and used it until we had to wait approx. 5 minutes for the sealing strip to cool down. We finally broke down and bought another one. We had forgotten how fast they seal and cool down! We are very happy with our new Food Saver and look forward to using it for the next 8-10 years!!

Step backward in design, but it works
This was purchased to replace a FoodSaver that could be flipped & locked upright when not in use. Had to replace machine because gaskets are no longer available (by design?).
Upright automatic models waste too much bag material, have no manual control option and are too 'touchy' to operate. This was the compromise but it still takes up too much counter space. The flip-up models were the best of both worlds so, naturally, they were discontinued (as are the replacement gaskets various models require) so you're forced to buy a replacement machine.
The unit works & works well. Too bad the fundamental design begins with required unit replacement and goes from there. For that reason alone, my recommendation would have to begin with "you'll have to replace the machine in a few years but... ".
