The FoodSaver® Seal-in-Savings Kit
I love it!
This is my 3rd foodsaver and my favorite. My1st one lasted for probably 13 years and was great but took up a lot of counter space. My 2nd one was a vertical model, so it took up less space, but it was difficult to slide the bags in just right to activate the machine. This one is the best of both of the models! It's vertical, but the sealer bar lifts up so it's easy to get the bags in to vacuum/seal. It also seals chip bags in a snap. I use it almost daily and it is quieter and quicker than my other models. My 2nd model only lasted about 3 years, so I'm hopeful that this one will last longer. As a side note, I have a lot of silver Christmas ornaments that I vacuum/seal every year so I only have to polish them every 5-7 years. It's great!

This is a very reliable long lasting product.
I bought my first Food Saver Vacuum Sealing System so long ago I don't remember when. I used it at least once or twice a week for many years until one day I guess it just got tired out. So I immediately bought another one.
My husband and I are both retired and in our 80s. We don't eat such large portions any more, so I often have to split up larger packages of meat or sausage or anything really and freeze to use at a later time. My Food Saver seems to get even more use now than it did when we were both working.

Purchased this sealer to replace an older unit that could not be left on the countertop making it less likely to be used. We leave this out all the time and are definately using it more often to season left overs, etc. A heck of a loy easier to use than the old flat model.
Only drawback is storing the vac line adapter. Instructions are not very clear and it keeps falling out of the slot when you pull our bagging material.
Other than that, we really like it!

Round 2- in a good way
This particluar package deal can't be beat. My last FoodSaver is/was going on 7 years old and finally got to the point where it wouldn't seal if liquid was in the sealing area (no longer getting quite hot enough I would guess). In any case, it was a no-brainer to get another. If this one lasts another 7 years, it's roughly $20/yr. The ability to buy bulk meat- full striploins when on sale for example- and subsequently cut them up and freeze them for extended periods EASILY saves the $20/yr alone. Add to that the bonus of quick-sealing (not vacuum) bags of Lays potato chips that my kids constantly leave open at $4.29/bag, to help prevent from going stale, and the savings continue to add up quickly...

I would not recommend this product
This is my second FoodSaver Sealer and very much like the first one, of which was extremely reliable. I've used this one twice and the second time was worse than the first. You end up remaking bags to try and figure out what's going on and may only work as advertised every 5th to 7th try. I'd say stay away from the new models and stay with the base V2431 or similar version. This is what I previously had and experienced no problems with it...until it finally died. I've submitted this to the company and will wait and see how the Customer Support is.

Easy to use; simple, straightforward controls!
This is the simplest, most straightforward sealer I have ever used. It appears to be a "no muss, no fuss" design. I am hopeful that it will be trouble free for a long time.

This is my feelings on it
The machine is very nice but after I read the directions and it said to either freeze first or put paper towels between the meat I knew right then it was not for me. I buy in bulk and when I get home I want to put my meat up not wait around for it to freeze. I wish I could return it since I did not even use it.

This is our second Foodsaver. They have saved us thousands of dollars over the last 10 years.
