FoodSaver® Professional Vacuum Sealer
NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT
We now have had 3 of these and each one has quit working after 6-9 months. The sealer failed on the first one and the second two both just stopped working on the same day, you can maybe make 30 seals before you need to rest these machines (why we bought two). We used these machines just for doing a little bit of sealing various items and doing our fish processing twice a year. Each machine did not make it through more than one fish processing (typically only 80-100 lbs worth). In my opinion, unless you are doing small batches with one of these they do not hold up (I certainly would not trust it to even do a deer all the way through, let alone a moose......

Too large and bulky
I've on my 4th foodsaver in the past 15 years. I use them a lot and love them. I didn't realize when I ordered this one (my old one stopped auto-sealing) how large it was. It's HUGE. So hard to store in my kitchen. Also, it doesn't have a moist vs. dry feature. It does have storage for a roll of bags but that's also inconvenient becase when I did a really moist item, the bag got wet after the suction pulled blood into that area.

Love the FoodSaver Professional Sealer
Over the course of a number of years I've owned several FoodSaver Vacuum Sealers and purchased machines for both my daughter and daughter-in-law. Because of the way I shop and amount of cooking & packaging I do, I've literally worn my units out over time which prompted me to choose to upgrade to the Professional model. I especially appreciate the fact that it will handle multiple, consecutive seals without a break! If there is one drawback, it would be the fact that it is rather loud when in vacuum mode, however that's minor when considering the unit's function overall!

Did not last
We will see how this all turns out. I have used this product a few times over the year that I have had it. After these few times the upper seal has already failed and when i logged onto the website it says there are no replacement parts available. I emailed customer support and we will see how this work out. The product works well and if I can get a repair part it will be an ok product. At this time I have a $180.00 piece of junk on my counter and 30lbs of summer sausage I cannot vacuum seal.

could be a keeper, but
It is easy to use and does a good job of vacuum sealing.
Its best feature is the ease of use
It is a loud machine when compared to the Professional 11(the best one made in my opinion) nothing beats the Pro 11

This Sealer is almost perfect.
We bought this sealer for a bulk herbal business. The product works well and is a vast improvement over the personal Food Savers. We use it to seal dry herbs to keep them fresh. A major problem with some models is the powdered herbs drawing into the sealing area and preventing a good seal. This model It is easy to use and seals very well without pulling the product into the seal. The only problem is that it still overheats and has to be given time to cool after about 17 repeated seals. If it was not for this one problem it would be almost perfect.

I have used it only on my deer when I received this sealer last week, BUT in my short experience, it seals very well, does not waste material like the upright models. One thing to note, when the light goes off for sealing, open it NOW or it will continue to burn thru bag seal. BIG FEATURE is the lock for storage which I think will save the gaskets. Love it so far. Will use it today when I get my venison burger back.

This is a great product for saving time and money.
This is my third FoodSaver. I purchased a second one when they claimed to be fully automatic. I hated it and returned it! However, t his one has nice features and is easy to use except for where the cutting line is. It is in a different place from my first one, so I have to be careful not to cut the bags too short! I purchase from a club warehouse about once a month, and this means that we eat much better for less money.
