FoodSaver® GameSaver® Outdoorsman Premium Kit
I bought the Gamesaver Silver with the 12 volt power cord included.
I have already used it to package meat bought on sale at the supermarket and have packaged four fresh salmon I was given also.
It worked flawlessly. Sealed every time. No overheating, no waiting. It worked great packaging large meals into smaller ones to freeze for days when something quick is needed.
Much better than the brand I used to have.
The marinater worked so well I bought another so I could have two steaks marinating at the same time.
I haven't used the 12 volt power option yet. I will next time I go to the beach and dig razor clams.

Best food saveri have ever owned.
This is the best foodsaver I have ever owned. I do alot of fishing and hunting and I am always freezing something. I have owned alot od other foodsavers in the past and they just can't compare to the foodsaver silver. I never have to wait because it over heats it sucks out more air than other models I have owned. The silver with it's 12volt option is a must more any sportsmen. To have time at camp to seal my meat as I process it is wonderful. I would and have recommend this silver model to everyone I know that is a hunter or fisherman. Thank you Foodsaver Kenny from CT..

Versatile and useful, it's a kitchen "must have"
I've been a FoodSaver fan since the clunky first models were introduced. And my oh my, what a difference a few years can make.
This model and the advanced improvements it contains is a winner. From solid, tight, airless vacuuming, to "soft vacuuming" squishy items like potatoe chips or fresh fruit, there is so much control at your finger tips.
And I never travel any longer without vacuuming my socks and underwear thus leaving a LOT more room in my duffel.
All in all, a great product, as is the entire line of vacuum packers and strong sturdy bags.

Perfect for the sportsman!
What a great concept! Being able to use a FoodSaver, but doing so in the field or camp.
I hunt and fish all over the Pacific NW and Alaska.
I bought this, primarily, to be able to process my Halibut and Salmon when I travel to Alaska.
(Previously, I had been paying big money to have it professionaly bagged, and/or trying to drag my wife's kitchen unit in my luggage.)
Any negative reviews are usually from people who have NOT read the instructions.
You can get about 40 seals (20 bags with both sides sealed) before it needs to cool down.
I'm good at what I do, but it's rare that I process more than 20 filets (10 fish), so this more than suits my needs.
Besides, the cool-down period (if needed) is perfect...by then you probably need a break anyway.

has great features
This is my third food saver the first one lasted years finally wore out the second one lasted 3 years then the computer went.. the unit was 3 years old when we bought it but was brand new.. the numbers on the plug tell you how old they are I really like this new one its already 2 years old when we bought it but still brand new ..it also is the game saver series but this one has a few manual process like the manual lock which we like hopefully no computer problems also this one you can leave plugged in.. the wide sealing strip is also a great feature if we could buy a unit that was all manual we would ..KISS.. no need for a computer less to go wrong ...still we would recomend this product food does last over a year if done right ...

Very Good Product But You Need A Bit Of Experience
The Gamesaver is a very good product, if you know how to use it properly. For dry foods, it is excellent. For moist foods like fish or meat, where the suction may draw moisture to the sealing edge, you need to take a bit of extra care. In the past, I have always done a double seal for these type items and it's worked for me. The website recommends placing a piece of paper towel between the food and the point of seal, I will try that next time. The only other issue I have from time to time is with something sharp, like a sharp piece of bone piercing the bag. I've learned to be careful with that. But I think it someone provided a thicker bag or perhaps a thicker piece of plastic that could be slipped into the bags, it would solve my last issue.
Once you do get a good seal, these work as advertised. The bags really keep my food fresh in the freezer for up to a year. It may work longer, but I don't have any food that lasts longer than that.

Overall an easy to use problem free machine.
I own three and they have held up better than the cheaper models. For vacuuming a few items this machine is great. If you have to vacuum for hours, like an elk for the freezer, you will need more than one machine. Individually they get hot after an hour of use and shut down.

A step up...
I previously had a "GameSaver Pro" which I puchased from Cabela's a couple years ago. This machine has a few improvements which I recommend.
First, it uses a manual locking system which frees one from having to push on the top of the machine.
Second the process sealing bags made from rolled material is accomplished without the pump being on. The manual lock is much simpler and can only cut down wear and tear on the pump.
Also, the pump operates very powerfully and seems more adequate to the the task of processing multiple portions.
Also the nylon carrying case is very handy, providing storage and protection, and the plastic marinating container is effective and easy to use.
