Apple Aroma Year RoundFall is apple season. If you have ripe apples for apple pie or crisp, but don’t have time to make it right away, here’s a handy tip. Slice the apples, place in a FoodSaver® Bag, then vacuum package. You can keep them in the refrigerator for several days (even weeks) and they won’t discolor – they’re perfect for making your favorite dessert when you need them. Want another $aver Sunday suggestion? Thaw and simmer apples with cinnamon, brown sugar and water and then blend thoroughly in a mixer to create a smooth applesauce that makes for a perfect afternoon snack.
Light Up Your Party!Use mini-pumpkins or small gourds as candleholders by snapping off the stem and gluing a candle (or melting the bottom of the candle so it sticks) onto the top of the pumpkin. Place hurricane glasses around the candle and place floral pins around the glass to help it stay put.
