FoodSaver® 3 Piece Round Canister Set
Lid sealer for jars
Since I am reading a lot of negative remarks on the plastic containers losing their seal, cracking and so on, you ought to try the Jar lid sealer it does a fantastic job...I have the deli containers and did have trouble with them
holding their seal thought maybe I was doing something wrong as I was a.new user, I have a lot of canning jars so thought I would put them to good use...just now got the set of three canisters wanted to try bananas and berries in them. Hope I am doing them right. So far I like the food saver..I like it to freeze meats and vegetables..

Bottom will crack quickly
I have owned a food saver for over 8 years. I have replaced the main unit 3 times and each time they were improved and much better. I received 6 different size canisters on with my first purchased and they worked well and over the years cracked at the bottom. I was OK with that knowing that I got my moneys worth out of them.
2 weeks ago I ordered another set of canisters even after reading the bad reviews on them. I have used the middle size canister 3 times and it now has a crack along the bottom of the canister and will not seal. I hand washed it after each use, no dishwasher. I am not going to send it back because I don't want to spend the time or money shipping it back to them. They are very thin and cheaply made.
Do not buy any canisters!!!!!

I have purchased a few sets of these canisters and have had a few replaced by Foodsaver and to have all of them crack on the bottom and then when that happens it cannot keep a seal. I thought maybe it was my machine causing the problems with cracking them because of too much pressure or something but I see other people here having the same problem. This is a good idea but your going to have to make them with a sturdy bottom to stand the pressure. I wonder if the older products with the turn knob on top had these problems?

I bought these knowing they were risky. There are a ton of reviews online about these cracking. I figured I'd handle them with kid gloves and see what happened.
-I only hand washed them.
-I never refrigerated or froze them.
-I would only run one cycle.
-They were never dropped.
The large and medium size canister both cracked on the bottom. The cracks are so bad that the canisters will actually slightly seal to my counter top. As others have mentioned, it's hard to understand why they don't immediately discontinue and improve this product. I've been satisfied with other Foodsaver products though.

Too many faults to be rated high
Been using food saver products since 1999. More than half the time the vacuumed bags leak and lose the seal. Have tried all the tricks recommended by Food Saver; paper towel for wet foods, freeze first, etc but still have problems. Every one of my canisters, and I have bought extra have cracked bottoms and will not hold a vacuum. Fill it 1/4 way and vacuum it down. See the air leak into the canister. When it works it is great but success is rare.
Exception is the hard to find individual seal caps that used to be available but can't find any more. They would be great for glass jars and hold a vacuum indefinitely. Fix the container cracking problem!

Round plastic food containers
Love the product but they crack very quickly on the bottom. Some haven't even been washed and they still cracked. I've actually had to take shipping tape to the bottom in order to keep the seal. I usually keep the same thing in the containers (different kinds of crackers and snacks) so they don't get washed very often and when they do, I wash them by hand. Will still keep using them but wouldn't recommend them to anyone who hasn't purchased this product. Hopefully, I'm not the only one with this problem and you will make some change(?) in how it's made. The bags are a different story. They are fabulous.

Canisters do not hold the seal.
I have several of the canisters which I have had for some time. With that said, I've had some that cracked and were replaced. With the latest one, I was told it is no longer available. Now the one that I used for coffee is no longer holding the seal. I though maybe it was the lid, so I tried a different lid, same issue. The original lid held perfectly on another canister. I would love to have more of these, however, I am hesitant to purchase with all of the negative comments about cracking and failure to hold the seal. What is Food Saver doing to fix the problem?

The best reusable FoodSaver accessory
I have two sets of the three Piece Round Canister Sets since they are so helpful. I use them for snack peppers, cherry and campari tomatoes, fresh pineapple spears straw berries, shrimp... Any item that is too large for the shallow containers or would be crushed in a bag.
As "empty-nesters" we can buy the family pack of berries and vegetables, seal them in canisters and they stay fresh for weeks. Strawberries last many times longer and get eaten long before they develop the white mold - something that happened often before we got the canisters.
We do a lot of boating and look forward to using the canisters while on both weekend and longer cruises.
