Fresh from Stream to Freezer

Vacuum package and freeze your fish whole or portion into steaks and filets. Saves space in your freezer and virtually eliminates freezer burn!

Vacuum packaging is a great way to transport fish from field to freezer. Even if you’re flying home from a fishing trip, you can vacuum package your catch and place it in a cooler with ice as carry-on luggage. It won’t smell, and it will be tidier and more effective than wrapped paper.

For best results, pre-freeze fish to 1-2 hours before vacuum packaging in FoodSaver® Bags. This helps to retain the juice and shape, and guarantees a better seal. If it’s not possible to pre-freeze, place a folded paper towel between fish and top of bag, below seal area. The towel will help to absorb excess moisture and juices during the vacuum packaging process.
